We picked Ivy Cottage because it was ocean front and "pet friendly". We found it to be a charming cottage that fit our budget and needs. The only down side of the trip was #1-the twin beds were not very comfortable and #2 - we were a little disapointed that the fencing was not taller. Had to keep a close eye on the dogs and make sure they did not escape. Otherwise, the cottage itself was just right for a beach get-a-way.

We stay here every year (sometimes twice if we're lucky!) with our dogs, and we all have the best time! This is old school Long Beach style---Ivy Cottage is our vacation IV!

I've stayed in quite a few rentals on Oak Island in the past. This house, as the name suggests, is a cottage, but it is very comfortable and clean. You can easily have 6 people here, as long as some of them don't mind sleeping in twin beds. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outside on the deck. There was a nice selection of pots, pans and other kitchen items for our use, which you don't always find with other rentals. We took our small dog with us so it was nice having a fenced in side yard for him to run around in. I would definitely rent Ivy Cottage again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a pet friendly, Ocean View house.
