We enjoyed our stay overall but the unit is quiit shabby and needs some overhaul - especially the door to the balcony which was corroded and extremely difficult to open and close. It did not have a real clean feeling. By the way - we recommend that you ask owners to keep fresh batteries in the smoke detectors. It was chirping in the middle of the night and it was difficult to determine how to get it out at that hour.

The entire area of Oak Island, Caswell Beach, Southport is beautiful, peaceful, and friendly. We love the quiet beach. This condo has a beautiful view but the sliding door took an act of God to actually slide. Also, this unit is for sale and while we were out on the beach one morning, an agent from another real estate company came into the unit to show to potential buyers! Every bit of our stuff was out and could have been plundered, luckily nothing was missing. Rudd agent apologized, sort of. The condo was not very clean when we arrived: dirty carpet, fried food smell, dirty glass door to balcony and dishes still in the dishwasher. We paid for cleaning service upon checkout so that the next renters would have a clean condo to settle into. Our overall opinion is that we love the area and will vacation there again. We may choose another condo development or house with another realtor next time.

Pro: This condo has a great view of the beach/ocean. It is very well located near the pool and beach access. The trade off for the great view was climbing the stairs to the third floor. Con: While the kitchen was equipped with the necessities there were no extras. We eat in all week so I would have preferred a few more things in the kitchen. The sliding glass door leading to the deck was nearly impossible to open. Overall it was a good experience.
