Service from Margaret Rudd is always dependable. The last three times we visited we needed additional cleaning upon arrival, and it was promptly corrected. Our family of four has been coming to Pelican Knob for years because it is a real beach cottage, not too big, and not too expensive. Nestled just behind the dune, it is a very simple and basic accommodation. The cottage is small and old, but charming. All the paneling and floors are real wood like a traditional beach cottage should be. It has lots of original artwork and funky lamps. However the floors are wobbly, the doors are hard to close, and the kitchen is only minimally equipped for cooking. The bed is not comfortable for two adults. This is not a place for the luxury minded. It doesn't have an outdoor shower. There is no shade on the decks. But the Caswell Beach location is very quiet and family friendly. The oceanfront location is perfect for relaxing on the sand, or with a cocktail on the deck.

quiet location,great beach access. cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. no washer /dryer.
