GO FLY A KITE
No trip to the beach is complete without flying a kite and you don’t have to be a kid to delight in this pastime. There are numerous places on the island to purchase kites of all types if you didn’t bring your own.
RIDE THE FERRY

Take the trip from Southport to Fort Fisher (approximately 35 minutes one-way) across the Cape Fear River. Kids will love driving the car onto the boat and don’t forget some crackers for the birds that flock to the boat and eat right from your hand.
