Historic Bicycle Tours of Southport:  (July)
Bring your own bike or rent one for an additional fee. Participants required to wear a helmet. Tour duration 1.5 hours. Sponsored by The Adventure Company in cooperation with the Southport Parks & Recreation Department.

King of the Cape Classic:  (July)
King Mackerel Tournament to benefit the Long Bay Artificial Reef Association. Registration Friday. Saturday Fishing & Awards at the Old Yacht Basin, Southport.

Ladies only king mackerel tournament at the South Harbour Marina.

Boiling Spring Lakes Raft Race:  (August)
Starting at The Lakes Country Club, on the Big Lake. Rafts must be homemade, no commercially manufactured hulls, no inner tubes. Minimum size 4X8 and self propelled. Everyone is invited to sign-up.

Labor Day Art & Craft Fair: - Labor Day -  (September)

16 years old and under only. A free t-shirt to the first 50 children. Bring your own crab line & chicken neck to the Southport's Historic Waterfront.

Boiling Spring Lakes Poker Run:  (September)
Motorcycles Only. Fundraiser for the Boiling Spring Lakes Police & Fire Departments.

FLW Outdoors Kingfish Tour:  (September)
Winner determined by heaviest fish of the tournament. Southport Marina, Southport.

Annual U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament:  (October)
Guaranteed Prize structure. Entertainment, Fish Fry, Fishing Tournament. The winner of the 2005 tournament won $35,500 with a 38.6 pounder.

Captain Charlie's Kid's Fishing Tournament:  (October)
16 years of age & under only. Free t-shirt & food to first 100 children. Bring one fishing rod & bait to the Southport Waterfront.

Celebration Oak Island:  (October)
Children games, family entertainment, food and community organizations' informational booths at Middleton Park, Oak Island.

Haunted Hayride:  (October)
