Several problems with the house. The refrigerator leaks from the filter above the top shelf. We constantly were soaking up water. The hdmi cable is frayed, so the dvd player wont work. We had to hook up my son's PS2 and use his hdmi cable. There is no grill. We had to go to Lowes and buy one. Dead bolts are rusted and don't lock. The foot wash nozzle was broken off. The top deck water has no handle, so you cannot use it. The driveway has extreme low and soft area. We had to call AAA to tow our car out. No window treatment in some bedroom windows. We had to tack up a towel for privacy. There is no couch as shown in the master bedroom suite. The kitchen is sorely lacking in basic items, such as steak knives and large skillets. The teflon pan was peeling off and ruined our first breakfast. The last but Not least is the erosion issue. The pictures on website do Not show the 10 foot drop off of the final step off the deck. We were routed to the empty lot to get onto the beach. The pictures Need to be updated to reflect this issue. Margaret Rudd let me aware if the erosion After I sent the Final payment. This erosion had to have happened a Very long time ago. Also, at high tide there is No beach because of the erosion.

We appreciate your review of your time in our Sea Song property and would like to first apologize for the unpleasant experience had by your family. We did not have record of any complaints reported to our office upon your arrival or during your stay.

Since receipt of your review, we have entered work orders to have the items addressed. Specifically, we have outside vendors working to repair the refrigerator and outside locks. Our on-site techs have replaced the HDMI cable and are working to correct the problems with the foot wash/water handle. Our housekeeping department has been informed of the need for additional/replacement kitchen stock items and will address that with the property owner.

With regard to the couch, the property owner chose to remove that item from the master suite as they felt it took up too much space. Once we were notified of this change, we promptly removed all photos referencing the couch and have urged them to replace the seating as we feel it is an important feature of the home itself – specifically due to the television in that area.

We also apologize for having to tow a vehicle during your stay as we understand how the sand can be an issue for certain vehicles along the beach. Many of our staff members have recently been to the home documenting the erosion issue and have not had a problem when using the designated parking areas.

We also understand how frustrating the erosion issue can be as it is something we deal with year after year. This year, the west end of the island has experienced significant drop offs and we have been limited by local governmental agencies/policies as to how we may address the problem. Once our diverted pathway was approved by the Town of Oak Island, we made it our effort to communicate the issue and resolution (albeit small) we could offer. We took updated photos of the area and disseminated them through emails to our affected guests in early June. Unfortunately, there is only so much that we can do given outside restrictions.

While we do hate that you had an unfavorable time during your stay, we do hope you will give Margaret Rudd & Associates, Inc. another chance to provide you with the service and care we aim to offer all of our guests. We certainly appreciate your input and only hope we will be able to welcome you back to Oak Island.
