Oak Island Lantern Parade
Join us for the 4th Annual Oak Island Unoffical Beach Lantern Parade! A magical community gathering at dusk to light up the beach with decorative paper lanterns! Here's how it works: meet at the Oak Island Pier to organize your lanterns. Once it gets dark, everyone will walk together east along the beach from the pier to just past McGlamery Street and back. Be creative! Use battery operated lights to illuminate your paper lantern, attach a bamboo stick to carry it and wear dark clothing so your lantern shines bright.
This family friendly event is open to all ages ( pets are welcome as spectators). Whether you make your lantern o buy one, it's a chance to share a glowing moment with the community, enjoy the beach at night, and celebrate together.
