Is the travel insurance plan required when booking a reservation with MRA?

The travel insurance plan is an optional plan that a guest may elect to purchase when booking a reservation with MRA. The travel insurance plan may be purchased at the time of booking or any time prior to making the final payment on a guest folio/reservation. The insurance is shown as an option when booking your online reservation through the website and/or when signing your Vacation Rental Agreement (electronically through the Guest Access Portal or through hard copy version).

Once purchased, guests have 10 days to cancel the coverage after such time no refund will be issued. Typically, the insurance is purchased with a guest’s first payment but it may be added as late as, but not after, the guest makes the final payment. After making the final payment, guests will have to contact the travel insurance provider directly to purchase the plan. Because MRA offers travel insurance, there will be no refund for insurable events if a tenant opts out of purchasing the plan. MRA highly recommends the purchase of travel insurance to protect your vacation investment.

*Please note that if you do NOT purchase travel insurance and a named storm (i.e., tropical storm or hurricane) is present and predicted for our coastline, any insurance coverage purchased after that fact does not include trip cancellation or interruption protection in relation to that particular storm.

Can I remove or cancel the travel insurance on my reservation after it is purchased, or if I change my mind?

Once the travel insurance plan is purchased, you have 10 days in which to cancel the purchase of travel insurance after which time Margaret Rudd & Associates cannot issue a refund for the plan.
