Where in coastal North Carolina do you manage rental properties?

Currently, Margaret Rudd & Associates, Inc., REALTORS® provides management services for properties in Boiling Spring Lakes, Southport, Oak Island, and Caswell Beach.

To safeguard property value and prevent neighborhood "friction", we intentially place short-term vacation rentals in areas deemed more as resort beach zones and less populated by full-time residents. As a result, our short-term rental market on Oak Island generally falls below the black line indicated on the map below.

Property Management on OKI - Short Term Rental Market

Our current long-term rental market covers areas easily accessed by our local maintenance teams, including Boiling Spring Lakes, Southport, Oak Island, and Caswell Beach.

Should I rent my coastal NC property as a short-term vacation rental or long-term residential rental?

The right rental strategy depends on your financial goals and personal preferences.

Short-Term Vacation Rentals

  • Ideal for higher-peak season income potential and flexible personal access to your coastal home
  • Rented fully-furnished, experience higher turnover, and require more frequent upkeep and maintenance due to guest traffic

Long-Term Residential Rentals

  • Best for owners seeking predictable, year-round income with lower ongoing expenses and minimal turnover
  • Rented unfurnished or minimally furnished and dedicated strictly as an investment

Our Brunswick County property management team can help analyze your property's revenue potential under both models to determine an optimal fit. Reach out to us at information@rudd.com to schedule an appointment to discuss your personal goals and let's see how we can help you succeed!
