Located at the end of 58th Street in the East Beach area of Oak Island, the Southern Shore Villas condominiums find themselves conveniently situated near local shopping and dining options. Each unit is individually owned and decorated, offers ocean views and come well equipped with amenities sure to add that extra level of comfort to your stay. The community offers ample parking, a pool, outside showers, and a private walkway to the beach with a gazebo and sun deck. While grilling is prohibited on balconies, the property does offer a large, open yard with available grills and plenty of space in the event you brought your own.

**Please note that parking at the Southern Shore Villas is assigned by unit number. While guests may park golf carts in the assigned spaces, there is no electrical outlet in the parking area available to renters. Please note that all vehicles in violation of the parking regulations are subject to being towed at guest's expense. Please call the office to confirm if a particular parking situation is allowed prior to your arrival.**

Great updates but a few things to adjust to

Overall

The update on this condo was done really well and this is our second time staying in this condo since it has been redone. The master bath/closet redo, the configuration of the kitchen, hard floors through out are all done really well. We appreciate some of the things added in since last time we stayed (small lights in the bedrooms, more than 2 chairs on the patio). Still some random things for families to adjust to, like no lock on the master bedroom door, it just slides over. The kitchen has some of the basics, but not as much in it as we have had in other units. Things like being prepared to buy lots of paper plates/bowls to use unless you want to do dishes all day long. We have a family of 5 and only 4 cereal bowls for the morning. We also went and purchased a larger cooking pot as we had nothing but small sauce pans to make family meals. One plus for families is the outdoor container in the front of the condo that is full of sand toys, boards, noodles etc that we were able to use and not have to go buy. Overall, still one of our favorite condos to stay in and wouldn't have a problem staying there again, just some minor things to adjust to if staying as a family for a longer period of time.

Overall

Nicely remodeled 3 BR, 2 Bath. Clean and very awkward, difficult to find true comfort except on the couch. One side chair and no ottoman. Not another chair except bar stools in condo. Great Master Bath! Kitchen...nice cabinets and drawers but furnished with everything old and dated. Old knives, old pots and pans. Not just old, very used! If this place was judged by its furnishings I rate it below others in Southern Shores. Title of review is chosen because the feeling you get for the week is modern but sterile. Not a beach comfy feeling. I may come back if adjustments are made but I have been in other units furnished far better with kitchen and furniture...and lamps! Especially at the rate for this unit. Not trying to be negative but the facts are the facts. A good remodel job but need someone to furnish tastefully for full value.Lighting in ceiling is very good. No table lamp lighting except in MBR. This is unacceptable, rental company provided a couple of table laps so BR 2/3 could read in bed.
