Margaret Rudd & Associates, Inc., REALTORS® Announces Election of Karen Rudd Brake to the Position of Corporate Vice President
Southport-Oak Island, North Carolina-based brokerage and property management continues family-owned and -operated reputation with 2nd generation leadership at the helm.
December 2, 2021 (Press Release) – SOUTHPORT-OAK ISLAND, NC – Margaret Rudd & Associates, Inc., REALTORS® today announced the election of Karen Rudd Brake, GRI, VRMP to Corporate Vice President. In addition to her new role, Mrs. Brake will continue to serve as Property Management Director for the corporation’s property management division overseeing its 260+ short term rental properties and 55+ long term rental properties.

Mrs. Brake graduated from East Carolina University in 1998 with a Bachelors in Hospitality Management and a Minor in Business. After working in food service management, she began her career in the “family business” of real estate in 2001 as a reservationist while learning the intricacies of the industry, specifically in property management, under her late father, S. R. “Buddy” Rudd, Jr. who served as the Corporation’s Vice President until his passing in June 2021.
Mrs. Brake has served in numerous capacities within the industry and in the local community. From 2008 to 2011, she served on the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She was a member of the former Oak Island Business and Tourism Commission. She currently serves as a member of the Brunswick County Tourism Development Authority Board of Directors, the North Carolina Association of REALTORS®, and the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®.
