Minimal Impact from Hurricane Idalia

As Hurricane Idalia continues to make its way offshore and away from our coastline, it appears that the effects of the storm along Oak Island were minimal.

MRA Operations & Updates

At this time, the Oak Island office is open for business and plans to accept arriving guests today through Sunday, September 3, 2023. With that being said, we are working with limited staff as we begin to conduct and prioritize property checks for those rentals with arrivals scheduled today and throughout the weekend. The Southport office of Margaret Rudd & Associates, Inc., REALTORS® will be closed Thursday, August 31, 2023.

GUESTS ON PROPERTY

If you are an MRA guest currently occupying an MRA vacation rental, and have experienced issues or are aware of any damages to the property, we ask that you report those items to our office by phone call to 800-486-5441 or email to information@rudd.com.

GUESTS ARRIVING THROUGH SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD

As mentioned above, MRA staff will be conducting property checks for rentals with arrivals scheduled today and throughout the weekend.

• If we become aware of any significant issues that impact a guest’s ability to check-in to their rented property, MRA will reach out to that guest on an individual basis to determine next steps.
• If you do not receive a specific communication about an issue, then you should follow the normal arrival procedures as indicated in your pre-arrival email and/or the digital property guide link received. Arrivals are generally permitted between 3pm and 5pm; however, we ask for patience in the event your arrival time is delayed due to property checks, and that you wait until you receive a text or email notification from the office before proceeding to your rented property per the normal procedure.

Please note that guests arriving through the weekend may arrive to find light exterior furniture, umbrellas, shades, etc. inside the home as a result of storm preparations and the limited staff we have available. Please also be aware that Saturday trash and recycling pick-ups for the island have been canceled by GFL Environmental, Inc.
